\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFamilies living at the Promise Center benefit from activities scheduled within or outside of the facility (arts and crafts, picnics, swim parties, etc.) Groups are welcome to sponsor an enrichment activity, donate tickets, etc.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

There are many areas of need not covered by dedicated grants that we must raise funds for. Some of these expenses are case management services, utilities and maintenance of The Promise Center, breakfast meals for clients, and direct financial assistance to clients and other neighbors in need.<\/p>

We welcome and will support all efforts to raise funds or donated items to help vulnerable individuals and families have safe, stable, and permanent housing!<\/p>

In addition, we sponsor several fundraisers each year and are always in need of volunteers on our fundraising committee.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Outreach and Engagement Lunchroom Meals<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEvery other week we welcome people living unsheltered in the community to join us for a hot lunch at our Day Center in Flemington. When you have no access to a kitchen it is difficult to have a hot meal. This provides our O&E clients with a chance to relax, and perhaps take a shower, while enjoying a hot lunch.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe are very fortunate to be asked this question often and our answer is, \u201chelp to fill shifts at our overnight shelter sites.\u201d We rely so much on our network of overnight shelter volunteers to help make our program work. Our shelter is made up of an inter-denominational network of 14 host and 31 support congregations and over 1,000 community volunteers who provide: shelter, meals, security, companionship and respect for homeless families and individuals. At the shelter sites, volunteers welcome the families with a home-cooked meal every night, served with love. It is, at its core, a highly successful program of neighbors helping neighbors.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe would love for you to get involved in the work we do. Family Promise of Hunterdon County utilizes the talents and skills of people like you to assist us in caring for the families who come into our shelter. We have a great network of volunteers who cook for us, spend overnights, provide us with gift cards and services so we can meet our goal of helping families feel comfortable when staying at one of our host churches.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe also love having \u201cAmbassadors\u201d who can help us educate the community about homelessness in Hunterdon and the needs of a growing population called ALICE, Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed. ALICE is one paycheck away from homelessness. With the help of our community we can address the need for affordable housing in Hunterdon. When the community comes together to align for a purpose then we can make lasting changes. Family Promise is a model for how the faith based community came together to address a need in 1990 when they learned of homeless families in Hunterdon County.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
